Adieu 2013 , Welcome 2014

2013 ~ I really don't  know what you were to a whole lot of people in this world, but you've been a complete roller coaster ride for me and am definitely sending you off with a smile!

You changed my relationship status from Single to MARRIED,  took me to Sri Lanka ( my first abroad trip ) and to a couple of other new and wonderful places in Karnataka, you swept me into an amazing new married life in the buzziest locality of Bangalore, you gave me a Honda Activa to ride and made me ride a realllyyyy long distance to and fro from college, you converted me from a Software Engineer to a Student again, all the crazy things  you let me do and finally scared me to death when you put my DAD in the ICU bed and brought him back safe !

More than anything, you introduced me to many other things I dint know I was capable of, and forced me to confront the facts and deal with them. You gave me hours and hours to come to terms with myself..!

I think we made good progress together !

Hello 2014 hope you heard all this .. Remember that you got to treat me Better dear (^_^)

Six Months of Marriage !

Shadow of my Better half

“There is strong shadow where there is much light.” -unknown

“To rest in your shadow for a while , calm down and there I
am lost in your love ..”

I've only been married for Six months and its been a year since I met my husband. A year ago I had resisted this idea of marriage but now things have changed. Marriage is a great Gyaan (knowledge) Guru.. it has made me better, it has brought out the best in me, it is hard at times than I expected it to be and conflicts have brought us closer....

... and still learning

Bottom Line:  Marriage gives you Maturity and Wisdom beyond your years !

My new Bike \m/

I am a bike enthusiast; there's a certain amount of romance to bikes. They're both beautiful and utilitarian.

One year old SASIAN

This day I woke up to complete my One year stint at Sasken , the company that gave me my first job and welcomed me exactly one month out of college !!

To be truthful ONE YEAR sounded really amazing . . it had been like yesterday since I left home to kick start my career in Bangalore. With wishes pouring in from Parents, Friends , my own Batch mates who joined with me and Colleagues elated me. Having had one of those best days in office I travel back to my room as usual in one of those metropolitan busses of this city.. The traffic seemed to move inch by inch. I leaned over the window reminiscencing.. the year had gone like a blink of the eye. I had learnt a lot. This city had given me new and wonderful friends who I cherish till day and will do so in the future. It has introduced me to people who hug your heart and also to stand alone , battle and survive . My work place has been a wonderful place. It has always presented me with moments of pleasure. . there had been times that I wanted to capture those moments and retain them forever so I can keep playing them on my Mental Playist in a continuous loop. The man I work for , my CEO remains a man of inspiration to me. The days I walk in at 9.30 in the morning and he jogs in past me wishing me cheerfully though he only knows me as a fellow Sasian has taught me of being humble always .. The many encouraging pats and technical learning with people who make working a pleasure has done a great deal of re-structuring to my attitude. The city , its people and my work place has embraced me with all warmth and love . . .As of parents I have done my best to make them feel proud about me. Dad hasn't changed in all these years , he still keeps boasting of his little girl's success as he used to do when I won a fancy dress competition during my kinder garden. Mom feels I have grown to become a responsible young lady ! ! Perceptions of people have changed and ask me what I feel about them ? I don't know to be honest .. I hold on to my dreams and aspirations ... my quest continues slowly as my journey is not done yet. We (my training batch mates who joined with me and myself) had gone to Kerala during the beginning of this week to celebrate our one year of togetherness. God's own country as they call it has filled my jar of memories with sweetest candies ever. . Those lovely moments I had in each outing in this one year flash across my mind.

ahaa finally my stop arrives I hop down and walked the street that I've been walking for the past one year - CMH road , Indira Nagar . With the street buzzing with life and the metro training silently swishing above my head I walked to my room humming loudly. Strangers smiled acknowledging my happiness. .

And finally when I go to sleep tonight I have a few things to say ..

Dear past : I'm glad you had taken the right decision... though it had hurt at times , it's okay cos you din't know it would. . still you gave me the best

Thanks to the almighty for everything :)

Star gazing

I live as a paying guest in one of those many PG's in Bangalore. This day I had come back early from office in one of my best moods. Dad had called to let me know that tonight there were gonna be some different planetary alignments in the sky and we could watch it with bare eyes(4 planets could be seen just like the stars) . . . I decided to pull one of my best PG mate along with me for star gazing cos she was the only one who would put up with my crazyness and madness. Another buddy also offered to put up with the same and came along.  11.00 pm on the terrace I was trying to figure out which one of those million stars seemed brighter and different so that I can call them to be planets !! My Pg mates were trying hard ....I mean to control their giggles looking at my star gazing act. To my relief we did spot those unique stars or what were supposed to be the planets and suddenly there was a shooting star I screamed there goes a SHOOTING STAR MAKE A WISH !! Each of us had our own wishes... A sudden silence prevailed . . for once the loneliness in life had embraced us. . each wanted something in life but one common thought for everyone at that moment was missing our family and home. We sat there and suddenly talked about star gazing and sleeping under the sky as kids. A sparkle in the eye, a smile on every lip and those flooding memories of childhood flowed... I don't know what prompted me to ask but I did ask " hey guys what did you wish for?" and then one realized omg I forgot !! can I have another star that will fall now .... LOL .. I was sure she was gonna go on a star hunt for the next one week ;-)

As I lie on my bed this night I realized one thing ~ Most often we never know the difference between our various needs and what we really feel about them . .We usually have a big list of WANTS but how many times have we attempted to stay aware of the ONLY thing we yearn for ?what it really means to us and then decide if it would be better for us to stay there to get it or just move on...  We always fail to realize this don't we ~ " Life is a change . Growth is optional. Choose wilsely ..."

Even though we fail to understand certain things there is that mysterious SOMETHING in life that makes you realize truth in a moment just like that Shooting star had done for us :-)

One last thing .. I must thank priyanka and prats for putting up with my craziness that night (^_^)

First day on the job

The post comes one day late , well it did take time for all those things that happened to sink into me ... Lemme start, Yesterday was my first day at work... Waking up early and deciding what to wear on the first day was an easy task !! Rang up mom whose at home in chennai to seek her blessings. Dad had accompanied me to Bangalore where my career was gonna kick start. 9.00 I moved to have my breakfast and caught up with few of my colleagues who were gonna join with me. My friends, noble souls sent me wishes for a happy beginning. 9.15 I step into MY OFFICE . Dad came along just to check out if everything was gonna be okay , as he had done this earlier viz. my first day at school and college ;-) . A warm welcome at the gates of my new office. We were asked to be seated at the auditorium. It was nice to smile back at equally excited faces that walked in and hifi's with the familiar ones there. The official session began, we were walked through every phase of induction and plenty of papers to sign to show that we understood all of them !!

will complete soon......... an engineer doesn't get quality time for creative writing wen they are trainee's ;-)

My Life in College

May 5 , my last day in college .. returning home brought back its lush memories

YEAR 1

Passing out of school brought about a whole new change in my life, new place, new people, new friends and plenty of new stuff to learn & live with. September 6 2007 was my first day in college and it was all too overwhelming. I had found friends the very first day. Had a few childhood friends for company yet it took a few days for me to settle down and after which it was just a natural progression with a small desperateness to prove myself different from the others and make a mark for myself. It did happen on the freshers day when seniors asked any fresher to volunteer to come up and perform ,that is when I came up with mimicry for the first time, result was an instant hit ( thanks to mom who suggested it ).Classes had begun with full swing. Then I had the usual successful run with plenty of fun during the symposiums, winning my first elocution competition and a state level paper presentation at a reputed college along with an old chum, the occasional cultural and plenty of time with friends. Must mention my first inspiration in college my Physics professor Mr. Ravichandran a fatherly man who has always been my motivating factor and guide. Getting to know the seniors was simply splendid, that is when I found an interesting and wonderful senior Yashwanthy. The climax in the first year was my semester in its annual pattern gave it my best and waited for the result.

YEAR 2

A switch to the new department. After staying as the first year stud in the Department of Humanities and Sciences we got to move into our very own home department and mine being the Department of ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. Again the fun filled and joyous days had begun. I had found a few besties in my bus mates. The most reliable and trusted who always stood by me and gave immense warmth and love. The first time I was assigned a responsibility of being the class representative by a person who was considered not so pleasant by my seniors. I took it up and moved forward. 3rd July 2008 would be a turning point in life my first semester results had come, eager as everyone I checked them. I had failed in a paper.. shock and disbelief engulfed me. I wouldn't weep, no I knew .. something told me to stay strong. But how would I tell my parents. I had called mom from coll to let her know. I returned home like a coward. That second I looked into her eye is when I got shattered. Dad came home early, I had no strength to face him. I had broken his trust. Shame and grief had taken their control over me. But my parents wouldn't let me live with it. They stayed strong and gave me the strength I needed, I went on with my re-evaluation procedures. A desperate wait and then came the results, I had cleared not with a mere pass mark but a decent score. The hope began surging within me as before. Worked hard on my academics. But a fear always stuck to my heart, I would never mention how I had done the exam to anyone as the outcome was unpredictable. I din't mind if people understood or not , they had not gone through what I had been through.  Semester 3 was my big ticket to come back with a bang and yes I did, I was the second highest scorer in my class. Now I could breathe more easily. Then had my smooth progress through Semester 4. I had not indulged in extra curricular activities for long my senior gave me a break. A sudden call to be part of her team gave me great exposure but lead to serious misunderstandings with a few friends. 6th April 2009 was the last day of my exam. Another year had run so fast. My friends wanted to celebrate it. We planned for an outing to the Elliots Beach. A picnic to beach in the mid day hot sun but guess what an ultimate turn over in the weather and we had sizzling showers. The day I had maximum fun and frolic, moreover my first outing with friends. Year 2 ended cheerfully.

Year 3

The tag of being called PRE - FINAL YEAR made the pride within me soar high . Amidst all the struggle to perform in academics and a few family mishaps I had paid little attention to my environment in class. Plenty had taken place. It was high time I got back to my friends. Yup I found a new side to their relationship. I had to put in a whole lot of effort to understand that certain people expect you to take great care and pay attention to their friendship, particularly girls. Big lesson I had learnt during this period was to learn to appreciate even the smallest of deed done and to accept as well as receive compliments. I began enjoying every moment of college life - those unforgettable class hours where we pretended listening while chatting , passing our msgs to friends on small paper chits, playing bingo or tic tac toe, happily munching those tasty snacks brought by any one of the gang member .. best of all dozing :) omg !! its a pleasure beyond heaven.. those lengthy lab session where you don't know what to do after experiments are done or mostly where you never get the required output no matter how much you try and settle down for a chat with the batch mates and wonder if anyone got the output so the others could copy those readings .. well as of me I had two interesting batch mates.. one was so sincere who would never give up , she mostly did the connection part while my job was to somehow bring out the result which I mostly did to satisfy the hardworking soul and then my other batch mate who would never turn up and if he did he would give me hrs of interesting lecture on bikes and racing.. I liked the combo !! Not to forget our movie outings, a gang of 24 girls but some missed it, the first one being Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya where we wanted to make it to the first day first show and we did but  not to one of those high class theaters but a normal AC theater with slanting seats ....Well this was college life reaching its pinnacle of happiness for me.

YEAR 4

Being branded the FINAL year sounded more better than being crowned the King of England. Yeah I had survived college and had seen every phase of human emotion. Here I was on the last step of this fantasy combined reality. Final year had instilled just two thoughts in mind, one was to enjoy as much as possible as we had just one year more and next was the complicated question PLACEMENT. As of enjoyment we had gone out for plenty more movies together and beach trips after Industrial visits, bunking afternoon classes and dashing out to the field for sports not minding if it was to play under the hot sun or the mid day Chennai showers. We were kids again. Life had changed lot in those last few months. End of 7th sem brought in placements. Lucky me, got placed in my first interview while my friends awaited their turn. I could see a sea change in my class environment, most were literally worried about their jobs yet they put up a brave face and gave it their best resulting in success after a few attempts. Then came the final project , I wondered with whom I would team up and that's when I had two of my friends who wanted me to team up with them. We were called the 3JI by our class mates tats cos we were - Sree Balaji [my best bro :) ], Viji ( my bus mate & buddy ) and finally me Suji. Project was done successfully with a few hiccups followed by the End sem. There was this urge to get out of college fast, its one of this peculiar feeling in life where we always wanna get to the future but am not complaining I still have my results, better still friends and other factors that still connect me to college...The place which had added bright colors to my life with  friendship, understanding, bunking a few classes, long hours in canteen, goofing off , surprise birthday parties & presents, demanding treats for silly reasons, hanging out with friends outside & at their home and those lovely moments with besties where every moment you roar with laughter.

THE END

ah ........ now that's my big story , my 4 years in college. The place that had taught me to be sincere and not serious, I learnt valuable lessons along the way like Silence is the most powerful and best way of being Aggressive, If people remembered you only during crisis it means you have a better place in their heart, Stay positive and cool no matter what happens, I learnt what is friendship practically, despair, sustenance, moral support, sharing, sacrificing, trust, hope, fun, the strong will to survive and live happily ...

well just wanted to share all this here so that in a few years time I can always look back at this and reminiscence the past.

2010 had a grand closure !!

Having had the best Birthday celebrations on Dec 7 ( Govt. holiday due to cyclone predictions turning out to be a false alarm as usual ) with wishes pouring in from friends through 50+ phone calls , 200 Facebook and orkut wishes, the best bday party with mom  dad & best buddy and even my favorite comic sending me tons of wishes with GOLD ;-)

HOWZAT ?? (^_^)

Next came DECEMBER 13th a big day in my life. I was gonna attend MY FIRST INTERVIEW  !!
Waking up casually that morn , getting ready and telling dad not to keep his hopes high as i'l be getting back home as early as possible , the journey began and this is how the day went :

First round  was an online test on C programming , initially as test began by 10 am server crashed. . . after a few hrs of wait I took my first round by 3.15 pm . 90 mins of battling with it I had to wait another hour for the result and then came the  Big news ``I CLEARED THE FIRST ROUND``. (shock n surprise to me but not to anyone around me , all they said was we knew it mate you are capable & good luck) :P

Next was my technical HR. Called home to let dad n mom know I was through to the 2nd round.  My Tech HR was a cool person who had plenty of time to question me . 45 MINS of testing my technical strength he came to two conclusions - I was good and next he liked the consistency & confidence in my tone . ROUND 2 CLEARED.

My General HR round was postponed to the next day due to lack of time !!

DAY 2: There were around 40 candidates waiting to take up HR . Again the HR was spending quality time with every candidate say 45 mins with each of them !! Waiting patiently for my turn , it was around 3.45 my placement officer informed that 17 of us in the list must go in for a Group Discussion due to lack of time to shortlist the final candidates.

Cleared my GD( my comfort zone ), it was about The Role of Media in projecting Politics  . Next came the one to one HR where I was to explain how I would handle the situation given to me ... My situation - " You are left alone in an island with food that can last for just 3 days. What will you do to survive & escape? " , okay I know it sounds like the one in the movie CAST AWAY right I din't know it then anyways Did well on my part and was put on wait for an hour to know my final result

DECEMBER 14th 7:00 pm my HR walks out to give the result : Miss Sujithra you have been PLACED !! Here is your OFFER LETTER !!

My parents were the happiest on earth that day !!
Most of all I need to mention my best friend, senior and trainer for placements Yashwanthy who was gleaming with joy for my success (^_^)

The remaining 17 days was back to routine life getting all the attention from my relatives and management . . But best of all FRIENDS who were really happy for me amidst their worries !!

Like I always say Long Live JOBS !! All Hail ENGINEERING !!

ADIEU 2010 (^_^)

Dear me ( turning philosophical )

There comes a time in life when the whole world seems to be against you, their demands are not justified, and it seems as though you' cant manage to fight them alone. All your hopes are pinned on parents & friends who have promised to stand by you no matter what, and ask for practically nothing in return for helping you through troubled times. I am talking, of course, about my future and life after college( just a year and 6 months left to graduate)... Not so far yet so near.

Leaving all this stuff to parents/friends seems the lazy way out, so its better I bumble along and learn a few things on the way. Seek the advice of some people who are concerned of my welfare and are worthy to be believed. The thought of doing all this is a big responsibility .

Long live JOBS! All hail ENGINEERING!!
